Nike, Making - available on itunes. |
Are you
stylist? Do you know how buy a better product for environment? What's
"better for environment" means? Use less water in the industrial process,
consume less power, or sustainable materials? It’s difficult to decide? Yes, I
agree!
We can't understand everything the industry does in products. Even if they tell us, the decision is tough. It can be much easier if you have options in your hands. And now somebody wants to help us. This is what Making from Nike wants to do. Help designers to decide what kind of material is better comparing to other.
It's free on itunes, has 22 types of materials, from hemp to polyester, and various types of categories, from power to chemistry. It tell you something like cotton is 5% better than nylon for water consumer, but 98% worse than silk. The overall list has down on the top and spandex as the bottom.
Just you know, spandex is the last one in many lists. Another excuse for keeping yourself in a good shape.
