A gluten-free meal in a Delta flight.

I cannot believe many people still not using the option they have to order a special meal while they are flying. From child meal to vegan, nowadays those companies have almost everything. Delta, for example, has 16 different choices.

You will need to ask before go in to the airplane, maybe a couple days before, but is a pay off decision. This time we decided to try the gluten-free meal in a Delta flight going back to the US.

First we've got a sticker in our seats to differentiate from others.

GFML - Gluten-free meal

Every single time we had our meal before anybody, talking about the economic class. I think it keeps the process working, and also because the kids menu can be served before as well. Just to remember, if your kids don't like spicy, and you are flying from the United States, you must ask for a child meal. Spicy is a staple in the American cuisine.

Going back to the gluten-free dinner, our meal was very "beefy". Some little thing I don't eat, but in general it was exactly what I was expecting.

Salad, fresh fruits, bread, a surprise box, and the dinner properly (top of this pic).

This meal was really good, no spicy because it was made in Brazil. Thank God!

Inside the little red box, olive oil, guava jam, granola bar, cheese and chamomile tea.

I know some of the fashion gluten-free people don't care for those oat having or not gluten, and the bread having a baking yeast, but I do. If you care for it, don't eat those guys. Maybe the normal person besides you like your offer.

Now talking about the breakfast. Again we were served first, and it was good because I was starving. This time they brought a surprise package... what is this?

Gala apple, orange juice, and a silver surprise.

A ham and cheese sandwich was inside the the hot package.

Again, if you don't know... some cheeses in the United States, and also the ham may contain gluten, be aware of it. But because it's a special requested meal, I assume they picked the right guys to fill out my meal. Because I'm very pick about those products touching the bread (see this video from Dr. O'Brien).

Well, I hope I could help some shy people to ask their special meal next time they have to go in a 9 hours journey to another country.

Other special meals Delta offer (I must receive some from them, right?).
