Why do Brazilians say "kkkk" when laughing?

Because the letter K is pronounced like CAR (minus the R) in Portuguese, and repeating it many times like kkkk makes the easier onomatopoeia for typing laughing out loud or laugh out loud - LOL.

You also can write hahaha, or rs which is a contraction for risos, that means smile, or smiles if you use more than one - rs rs rs.

Anyway texting kkkk, or kkk is easier, and it doesn’t mean Ku Klux Klan at all, even when Brazilians are using caps lock. I mean that we don’t have a historical connection with the KKK. Some young people in Brazil don’t even know what KKK was.
